History of Wolverhampton Wanderers

The club were founded in 1877 by John Bayton and John Brodie, After pupils at the St lukes school were presented with a football by their head teacher. A few years later , like most teams had joined with the local cricket club the wanderers which then formed the Wolverhampton wanderers. The team were originally given two small football fields, But then moved to a site in Dudley opposite the fighting cocks in 1881.The club then went on to be one of the original founders of the English football league in 1888.
